Liverpool transfer plans

Currently sitting atop the English Premier League standings, Liverpool is looking at bolstering its roster by targeting some players it had interest in before the season began. It has been a wonderful season so far for Liverpool but the Reds are hoping to add some reinforcements to fend off the surging Manchester United and Leicester City squads. Most significant to Liverpool’s needs are additions to the backfield which has been plagued by injuries this year, notably the season-ending injury to center back Virgil van Dijk as well as the expected long term knee injury sustained by Joe Gomez.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has his eyes set on a couple of players off of the Brighton roster including Ben White and Yves Bissouma. Klopp had some serious interest in adding White in the summer but were scared off by the steep asking price for the young, towering defender. The tides have turned for Brighton who find themselves near the bottom of the Premier League standings, and could use that in flux of cash to shore up their roster at a number of different positions.

Bissouma is seen as potential support in the minefield as the 24-year old who originally came to Brighton from Lille in Ligue 1 of France, has had an impressive season and has garnered interest from around the football world. He is seen as a long-term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who may be on his way to Barcelona either at the end of the transfer period, or after the season is over.
